The Banco Filipino Fight

The Court of Appeals gave Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas 5 days to comment on the case of Banco Filipino

Banco Filipino has been one of the trusted banks in the Philippines with over 170,00 clients with billions of pesos in deposits.  I know of one client who even has 200M pesos in this bank.  If they can continue rendering their services to their clients, why would they be bankrupt?  The bank run they experienced was due to the continued spiteful information BSP published in tabloids.  BF needed to ask for an emergency loan because of those large amounts of withdraws in just how many days.  I think that this can happen to any bank if they would sue BSP, tsk!   The injustice BF is facing does not only involve this current incident but also for damages that BSP is suppose to give BF.  The Supreme court already ordered BSP to pay 18.8B damages to BF, that alone is able to support mass withdrawal & continue it’s operation, but BSP did not comply.

There has always been a BSP comptroller within the Banco Filipino. how will it become mis managed without the BSPs supervision?  With so many allegations of BF left unanswered, I belive the public needs to know what really happened and regarding old CB =/= bangko sentral. This is a dumb statement since iisa lang naman lagi ang central bank sa isang bansa pwpwede bang hindi siya yung similar entitity sa dating sentral bank? thats stupid.. pls pay banco filipino so we can get our money back

BF people were all so happy when the news about the bank rehabilition was granted last year.  The bank started to plan for new things such as the computer upgrades and more branches to be opened which means more jobs to be available for the filipino.

Now, employees are still hoping to get back to being on the work force of the bank.  The sudden closure terminated their employment, which they all are depending on.  They are now having problems where they wouldl get their budget to buy their necessities.  Their benefits will now be discontinued until they find new employment.  What if they don't find a new job due to the thousands of fresh grads who accept minimum wage?  Wouldn't they have the priority because companies can pay them less rather than those people who have years of experience and negotiates their wage?  What about those who are beyond the age limit we find in job advertisements, how can they get employed again?  How will these employees support their families if this is the only income their families have?

Banco Filipino employees are waiting if they still have a chance, if BSP's malicious intent would be taken down and BF would be given justice. Banco Filipino employees are said to have a prayer rally this April 4 along SM Harrison, many people pledge their support and give financial support even from abroad.

Banco Filipino is still fighting for their right because they know they have something to fight for.  They would not fight back if they know that they truly are in crisis.  Do you think that they would give up on their company because of this? They know that they are capable of continuing the banking operations and not let go of the importance of their depositors.  Reflect on those statements, please and help Banco Filipino and its employees.

Please read very good insights from BF employees

Yung mga abugado ng PDIC and even the BSP people, mga WALA SILANG PUSO!!! We fully understand their job as regulators and insurers of bank... ang gusto lang naman kasi naming mga empleyado ay mabigyan din naman kami ng sapat na panahon upang makagcope up sa sitwasyong ito.. kasi kahit kaming mga empleyado, we were caught unaware of the situation... please remember that the management of BF did not declare the said bank holiday, it is only their perception that we are on bank holiday pagkatapos ng dalawang araw na hindi pumasok ang mga empleyado sa branches. After this situation, then came this MB Resolution carried by PDIC people on March 17, announcing that they are taking over bank and all bank employees are hereby suspended effective immediately without pay pending their evaluation of bank's resources if it is to be rehabilitated or for liquidition na talaga. They did this without even giving notice to the DOLE that they will be suspending/terminating us.. GANUN NA LANG BA YUN? WALA NA KAMING TRABAHO? WALA KAMING PERA PANGGASTO sa araw-araw because kahit kami ay naipit din ang aming pera sa bangko? The employees only ask for a little compassion, all we ask is for these PDIC people to HONOR the 30 day notice na sinasabi sa batas sa paggawa(Labor Law). KAHIT PA SABIHIN NINYO NA HINDI NA NINYO KAILANGAN ANG MGA EMPLOYEES NG BANGKONG PINASARA NINYO BECAUSE AS WHAT YOU HAVE SAID YOU ARE ALL "EXPERTS" sana naman the least you for us is respect the "30 Day Notice" .YOU are not above the LAW ang BATAS SA PAGGAWA(LABOR LAW) ay ginawa para protektahan kaming mga empleyado sa ganitong mga pagkakataon...

@ jsan1217 > As a BF employee for more than 17 years, naibuhos ko lahat sa BF ang buhay ko... when BSP/PDIC top honchos said on march 17 that "as of the moment you are all suspended/terminated" and we were given the notice I couldn't help but wonder, paano na yung pag aaral ng mga anak ko graduating pa naman sa elementary ang isa tapos yung third child ko grade five pa lang and my youngest grade four pa lang... what will happen to them? Ako, I am already old enough to compete with other people who are looking for jobs today... Tama yun na I have experience but does it translate to job? NO, kasi most of the companies are looking for younger and more vibrant worker with they can train... experience is not a factor anymore... then what about kung meron kaming sakit? pipila ba kami sa BSP at PDIC para dun magpagamot? kasi yung mga HMO namin eh useless na.. suspended na.. Ano kaya ang gustong mangyari ng Malacanang din when Mr. Carandang said that they are satisfied with the swift action of BSP in closing the bank? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING? "TUWID NA DAAN?" Tuwid na daan ba yung 700 people plus ang nawalan ng trabaho just like that?... These people from BSP & PDIC are just satisfying themselves... Kasi natalo sila ng maliit na bangko sa kaso, NASAKTAN NA ANG EGOs nila ginantihan na nila ang bangkong iyon without thinking that 98 percent of the people who are working in the said bank ay maapektuhan... we the employees are not part and privy of their squabbles.. MGA WALA SILANG PUSO!! WALANG COMMON SENSE!! AND MR. I am a professional Mr. Carandang, I analyze personality of a person by just watching their moves and by listening to what they are saying... ang tingin ko sa iyo? mas mababa ka pa sa pinakamababang uri ng hayop sa ibabaw ng lupa sa mga sinabi mo.

They gave us assistance pero kailangan pa namin magsangla. Ibang bangko walang sinasangla sa kanila. They really want to kill BF to avoid their individual personal charges before the Ombudsman. Ito bang BSP ay regulator? o broker?
Nino, dats is very very true. As an employee of the bank, since 1992 nandito na sa loob ng BF ang mga tauhan ng BSP. Ano ginagawa nila? Magpapasweldo lang? Kung noon pa nila sinabi 2002 na lugi pala ang BF, dapat naghanap na kami ng trabaho sa ibang kumpanya. Kailan nila kami tinulungan per Supreme Court decision in 1991?
